We finally have football to analyze! Happy Labor Day from "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral"! Let's jump right in and break down the Crimson Tide's 56-7 victory over the MTSU Blue Raiders.

While the competition wasn't exactly top-notch on Saturday, it was excellent to see some of the things that Alabama has talked about come to fruition in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama ran the ball effectively, amassing over 200 yards and cashing in for five rushing touchdowns. More importantly, the Alabama offense largely stayed out of 3rd and long situations throughout the evening and kept the defense off balance due to consistent positive production.

Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe played clearly his best game in an Alabama uniform and was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance. He answered questions about his passing ability by creating easier throws down the field because the opposing defense was worried about the Tide's threat to run the football.

Of course, we know it was against MTSU, can Milroe and company replicate the performance against Texas this coming week?

It wasn't all about the offense as the Alabama defense set the tone early with three straight stops and showed great pursuit to the football. The defensive backs were blanketing the Blue Raiders receivers, creating optimism that the Bama backend may be one of the strongest in the nation this fall.
