TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban provided injury updates on Monday afternoon following the 56-7 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday night.

Defensive backs Malachi Moore and Jaylen Key both suffered injuries and were removed from Saturday's game.

Saban said both are day-to-day.

"They're both day-to-day," Saban said. "So it's probably too early to tell what their circumstance will be. [It will] probably be a couple of days until we figure it out. But, I don't think either guy has long-term issues. But, it will be interesting to see how they progress this week."

Alabama is also waiting on the return of wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr. — who is out with a hip injury.

"It's gonna probably be a few more weeks before he gets back into the swing of things," Saban said. "But [it's] hard to know exactly when. They'll do some re-checks on him here in the next week or two. He was having a great fall camp, doing a great job on special teams. He's made a lot of progress as a receiver so we'd love to get him back."

The injuries come at a bad time for the Crimson Tide — which is set to play No. 11 Texas on Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Longhorns put up 458 total yards of offense in their 37-10 win over Rice on Saturday.

Alabama is already without DB DeVonta Smith — who is currently missing time with a foot injury.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was 9-for-12 with 134 yards against Alabama in last year's game before suffering an injury late in the first quarter that held him out for the remainder of the game.

The Longhorns are led by head coach Steve Sarkisian, who was the Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator from 2019-2020. He also served as an analyst under Saban during the 2016 season.
