Second-Year Alabama DB Enters Transfer Portal
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama defensive back Earl Little II has entered the transfer portal after the conclusion of the Crimson Tide's season. The news was first reported by Nick Kelly of The Tuscaloosa News.
Little, a redshirt-freshman, saw limited action for the Crimson Tide in 2023, seeing most of his work on special teams. He appeared in eight games total, and recorded two tackles over the course of the season.
A Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native, Little was a highly-rated member of the 2022 recruiting class. He was rated as a 4-star recruit by all recruiting services, and widely viewed as a top-15 cornerback in the class.
Even with the transfers of both Little and veteran defensive back Kristian Story, the Crimson Tide secondary still looks to be very talented next season. The unit will be led by returning star Caleb Downs, and also features the addition of USC transfer and former 5-star Domani Jackson.
Since Alabama's overtime loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl on Monday night, 12 Crimson Tide players and counting have entered the transfer portal. Significant entries for Alabama include starting wide receiver Malik Benson, starting center Seth McLaughlin, and freshman quarterback Eli Holstein.
The window for Alabama players to enter the transfer portal runs until Jan. 6, and with the Crimson Tide's sheer number of players on scholarship including its 2024 recruiting class and three transfer portal additions, it makes sense to expect some more transfer portal departures over the next few days before the window closes.
