Alabama middle linebacker Deontae Lawson (ankle) and offensive guard Terrence Ferguson II (leg) will both be out for the Crimson Tide's first SEC road game of the season, sources tell BamaCentral.

No. 12 Alabama (3-1, 1-0 SEC) visits Mississippi State in Starkville late Saturday night.

Lawson was unable to practice once again late Thursday afternoon and will be unable to go against the Bulldogs (2-2, 0-2 SEC). He has been in a walking boot all week. Lawson is currently second on the team with 26 total tackles this season. He also has 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

Jihaad Campbell and Kendrick Blackshire will be next up in his place alongside Georgia transfer Trezmen Marshall.

Sources say the only chance Lawson plays is in an "emergency situation."

Ferguson also didn't participate in Thursday's practice. He has seen time on the offensive line this season at guard. Ferguson started against USF in Tampa while Tyler Booker was out with injury.

In Saturday's dominant win over Ole Miss, Ferguson looked solid while replacing an injured Darrian Dalcourt before leaving the game with an injury himself.

On Saturday night, sources say the Crimson Tide is set to return to an offensive line of Tyler Booker, Seth McLaughlin, Dalcourt and JC Latham, left to right starting at left guard.

The fifth? Sources say it's currently a "50 / 50" battle between Kadyn Proctor and Elijah Pritchett at left tackle. Proctor has started all four games for Alabama this year.

Alabama will also continue to be without defensive back DeVonta Smith and wide receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr. — both have missed the Crimson Tide's entire season thus far.

Alabama faces off with Mississippi State at Davis Wade Stadium at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.
