Sources: Malachi Moore Questionable, Trezmen Marshall, CJ Dippre Probable vs. Tennessee

Moore missed last week's game against Arkansas — Marshall and Dippre suffered injuries against the Razorbacks.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No. 11 Alabama is set to return tight end CJ Dippre (leg) and linebacker Trezmen Marshall (ribs) on Saturday against No. 17 Tennessee, sources told BamaCentral.

Dippre "definitely" will suit up and play against the Volunteers (5-1, 2-1 SEC), while Marshall "likely" will return to the Crimson Tide's defense, sources say.

Defensive back Malachi Moore's (ankle) status is still up in the air — sources said he "might" be able to play. He missed last week's game against Arkansas with an injury that he suffered against Texas A&M.

Dippre has been a full participant in practice since Wednesday while Marshall and Moore have practiced in injury-designated black jerseys all week.

If Moore is unable to go again this week, Alabama (6-1, 4-0 SEC) will continue to play musical chairs in its secondary, with Terrion Arnold, Caleb Downs, Trey Amos and Kristian Story rotating around at multiple positions.

Another storyline heading into Saturday's "Third Saturday in October" is who will start at left tackle for the Crimson Tide. Sources told BamaCentral that it is likely that true freshman Kadyn Proctor will begin the game as Alabama's starter. Proctor has started all seven games for the Crimson Tide but has been substituted for Elijah Pritchett on several occasions this season.

Alabama is 126th in the country with 31 sacks allowed in 2023-24.

"These are not all capability issues," head coach Nick Saban said of the offensive line on Monday. "Some of them are things that we could fix. When we're sliding out, to block three on three, and the guy doesn't slide out to block the third guy and he runs in to sack the quarterback, that's a mental error. That's not a physical problem. It's a combination of all those things that need to get cleaned up with better communication, better execution and maybe the more knowledge and experience we'll get, the more we'll be able to be more effective and consistent in those areas."
