The Texas Loss Breakdown on The Joe Gaither Show

Saturday night brought the Crimson Tide to its knees in Bryant Denny Stadium, we dissect the loss on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 79: Sept. , 2023
In this story:

It was an amazing weekend in Tuscaloosa, celebrating two blue bloods colliding on the college football field. The Texas Longhorns came to the Capstone and defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide 34-24 avenging its loss from a season ago in Austin.

What went wrong for Alabama? The list of shortcomings is seemingly endless so we begin to tackle them on the Monday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral".

Today's episode takes the Crimson Tide to task for failing into complacency and being unable to find, much less play to, "The Bama Standard".

Alabama head coach Nick Saban warned the fanbase that the Texas defensive line presented a formidable challenge, why weren't the interior offensive lineman able to handle them?

Has Saban lost his touch defensively as the Crimson Tide failed to pressure, much less sack Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers throughout the contest? The Rice Owls took him to the turf three times in Week 1, so why couldn't the Alabama Crimson Tide do it?

The Longhorns only incurred one pre-snap penalty and it was an intentional delay of game in the first quarter.

Saban complimented the crowd for its efforts on Saturday night but our host saw a much different picture from the upper deck inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Have the Alabama fans lost the hunger it showed in the early days of the Saban dynasty to effect the game?

This game has many more discussion points, so join us tomorrow as we complete our conversation around the crimson collapse.
