TV, Kickoff Time Announced for LSU at Alabama Showdown
There's a reason why it had a doubleheader scheduled for the first weekend of November, which made the selections easy, but not necessarily the game times.
When the University of Alabama football team hosts LSU on Nov. 4, with the SEC West division title likely on the line, the East could also be decided as Missouri will be visiting Georgia. With CBS having both its usual 2:30 p.m. CT spot, and a prime time slot available, it was just a matter of deciding which matchup will be first.
The Crimson Tide and the Tigers, what some have called the annual Saban Bowl, will be the night game, kickoff off at 6:45 p.m. CT.
Alabama and LSU will meet for the 88th time in series history when the two teams square off at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson Tide owns a 55-27-5 all-time advantage in the series, but lost in overtime last season 32-31.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban is 12-6 for his career against LSU, including an 12-5 mark with the Crimson Tide.
The other SEC games that will be played on Nov. 4:
No. 16 Missouri at No. 1 Georgia, 2:30 p.m., CBS
Texas A&M at No. 12 Ole Miss, 11 a.m. ESPN
UConn at No. 21 Tennessee, 11 a.m. SEC Network
Arkansas at Florida, 11 a.m., ESPN2
Kentucky at Mississippi St., 6:30 p.m., SEC Network
Jacksonville State at South Carolina, 11 a.m. ESPNU
Auburn at Vanderbilt, 3 p.m., SEC Network
Both games could attract the national pregame shows as well. Unless something changes after this upcoming weekend, the only other matchup between two ranked teams will likely be No. 5 Washington at No. 24 Southern California. No. 14 Notre Dame is also at Clemson, but the Tigers are 4-3. The game previously announced for ABC, will now be on ABC or ESPN opposite the early CBS game at 2:30 p.m.
