TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — For Alabama, it has been a tough road back into the College Football Playoff conversation. Despite winning 10 straight, the Crimson Tide has been stuck outside the four-team field because of lack of losses elsewhere.

On Tuesday night, Alabama (11-1, 8-0 SEC) remained at No. 8 in the latest release of the College Football Playoff Top 25. The Crimson Tide will take on No. 1 Georgia in the 2023 SEC Championship on Saturday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The Bulldogs (12-0, 8-0 SEC) defeated Georgia Tech 31-23.

Alabama is looking to stay focused on Saturday's game, asserting that everything will take care of itself if the Crimson Tide is able to upset Georgia.

"We really don’t try to pay attention to that," offensive guard Tyler Booker said on Tuesday. "We try to control what we can control, and what we can control as far as the poll and the committee goes is going out and dominating this weekend and really forcing their hand."

"We kind of knew that it is this game kind of be the deciding game for this type of situation," defensive back Malachi Moore said on Monday. "But I don't think that needs to be our focus this week. I think our focus this week is to go out there and execute and have championship-level preparation."
