2024 DB Prospect Cameron Pruitt Has Caught Alabama's Eye
February has been a busy month for Cameron Pruitt.
The 2024 safety prospect from Theodore High School in Theodore, Alabama has recently picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide.
Not long after receiving the in-state offer, Pruitt also received an offer three days later from offensive coordinator Tommy Rees' former school, the University of Notre Dame.
Pruitt currently measures at 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 187 pounds, which is on the larger side compared to the defensive backs on Alabama's roster. If he was a a part of the 2023 recruiting class, he would have been the tallest defensive back prospect.
Several SEC schools have already offered Pruitt, the first being Vanderbilt back in early December. Since then, he's picked up offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State, bringing the total number of SEC offers to six.
Pruitt's stock is rising fast, and although he does not have any stars as of yet, that will likely change sooner than later, especially if he continues to prove himself during 7-on-7s and camps later in the summer. In reference to Alabama, even though Nick Saban brought in one of the best recruiting classes in the history of college football, several players who are projected to start will be gone after the 2023 season, namely Kool-Aid McKinstry, Malachi Moore, and Chris Braswell should Pruitt make the transition to linebacker. And with players entering the transfer portal more than ever, the depth at defensive back could be the opportunity a player like Pruitt needs to play right away.
