Alabama Flips Local Product, Adds Kevin Riley Into 2024 Class
The Alabama Crimson Tide finally got its running back in the 2024 recruiting class. It only took the Tide the entire cycle and a flip to secure one, but they did.
On Wednesday's National Early Signing Date the Alabama Crimson Tide received a letter of intent from running back Kevin Riley of Tuscaloosa County High School. Riley had been committed to the Miami Hurricanes since June of this year, but decided to flip and join the Crimson Tide's recruiting class.
Standing at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds, the 4-star prospect is considered the No. 8 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 4 overall running back in the class by the 247Sports Composite.
He becomes the 25th member of the Alabama Crimson Tide Class of 2024 and the first running back in the class. Nick Saban appears to be targeting two other running backs in Daniel Hill and Jaden Baugh, but it remains to be seen if they'll make the same decision that Riley did.
Riley took part in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game and has been selected to the Under Armour All-American Game as well.
He took part in an official visit to the University of Alabama this past weekend but as a Tuscaloosa native, he's no stranger to the school. He's being primarily recruited by running backs coach Robert Gillespie.
The Crimson Tide now has a firm grip on the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation with only the Georgia Bulldogs sitting in front of them. There are still enough prospects yet to make a decision that Alabama could find itself once again in the top spot.
