Auburn Basketball has an Early Lead Over Alabama in 2024 Recruiting

Labaron Philon's recent commitment give Auburn its third member of its 2024 recruiting class.

No. 1 in-state prospect Labaron Philon committed to the Auburn Tigers on Friday, giving them their third player in the 2024 class.

The four-star point guard from Baker High School in Mobile, Alabama, is ranked as the sixth-best at his position and No. 40 prospect in the country.

Auburn also added four-star point guard Tahaad Pettiford, the consensus fourth-best at his position on Wednesday. On Dec. 9, they signed four-star center Peyton Marshall, the consensus No. 11 ranked big man in the nation.

Alabama has yet to bring anyone into the 'blue collar' program, but four-star power forward Donnie Freeman is favored to join, per On3 Recruiting. Freeman is the consensus No. 6 power forward in the country and top-ranked prospect Washington D.C.

Freeman took his official visit to Tuscaloosa on Jan. 25.

The St. John's College High School junior is listed as a power forward on 247 Sports and On3, but he lists himself as a six foot, eight inch, shooting guard. He has the length to snatch blocks, including a game-sealer against IMG Academy, and can shoot from downtown.

Freeman hasn't announced his commitment date at this time. However, he is still touring other schools
