Crimson Tide Adds Canadian Defensive Lineman to 2024 Class
The rich get richer and that's never more true in recruiting with Alabama football. The Crimson Tide is cleaning house on National Early Signing Day as they're securing another top five class.
One of the few undecided top prospects in the class comes in the form of Steve Mboumoua.
Mboumoua is a 4-star defensive lineman out of Quebec in Canada. He's 6-foot-4, 260-pounds and considered the No. 41 overall defensive lineman in the class.
He plays his football at Notre Dame de Foy in Canada.
Mboumoua took three visits to Tuscaloosa but didn't really do too much other shopping during his recruitment. He impressed Nick Saban in a June camp, he went to his first college football game for Alabama's game against Tennessee and then took an official visit with his parents the week after the SEC Championship.
He joins a recruiting class with defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman and Isaia Faga already in place, but you can never have too much quality up front.
The Canadian becomes Alabama's second foreign prospect in the class, joining German linebacker Justin Okoronkwo.
Freddie Roach served as his primary recruiter and Mississippi State seemed to be Alabama's only competition for his college services.
Alabama's now up to 23 commitments in the class and Mboumoua becomes the 16th signee so far on National Early Signing Date.
The Crimson Tide still has three to five other prospects that they can add before the day is over, including 5-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston who's making his announcement at noon.
