Is Alabama Commit Sterling Dixon on Flip Watch As Pressure Mounts For His Services?

Dixon made an announcement after taking his official visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend.

College football summers are about one thing for programs with championship aspirations, recruiting the next generation of stars. The Alabama Crimson Tide is already off to a strong start this summer and after this weekend's rounds of visits, the program feels even better about where it stands with one of its primary targets.

Mobile Christian linebacker Sterling Dixon took his official visit to the Capstone this past weekend along with nine other highly coveted prospects. Dixon, who had been committed to Alabama since December 2022, left Tuscaloosa ready for his college future.

"I just decided to shut down my recruitment. I kind of knew where I wanted to go. It's just like, 'Why not Bama?', said Dixon on The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral.

"They continue to just push for me and make sure I'm a priority. So for me, it's like, 'Man I'm gonna go up there with a bunch of guys who are going to get me better each and every day. I'm gonna go up there with a coaching staff that loves me and if I do the right thing I'll get on the field.' Like the resources are there. If I go up there and work I'll definitely get on the field. I just see a bunch of opportunity and I see where God's taking me and I'm ready to get there."

The Leopards linebacker is focused on trying to win a state championship with Mobile Christian, and shutting down his recruitment will allow him and his teammates to focus fully on the upcoming season.

Alabama's primary competition for Dixon's college services had been the LSU Tigers. Now that the 6-3, 212 pound linebacker is fully on board with the Tide, he told BamaCentral he'll be trying to convince Demarcus Riddick to flip from his Georgia commitment to the Crimson Tide.
