Top-20 Recruit in 2024 Schedules Visit to Alabama Basketball
Alabama basketball and head coach Nate Oats are already in the mix for a number of top recruits in the 2024 class, and they just locked down a visit from an elite prospect.
Guard Kon Knueppel, a consensus top-20 player in the class, plans to visit Alabama from Sept. 8-10, according to a report from Mark Miller of the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook.
Knueppel, a native of Wisconsin and attendee of Wisconsin Lutheran High School, has already visited the likes of Louisville, Virginia, Notre Dame and Stanford, and will visit Duke the week after visiting Tuscaloosa.
Standing at 6-foot-5, Knueppel is arguably the best 3-point shooter in the class, with elite sharpshooting skills off the catch, off the dribble, and moving off screens. His shooting ability would make him an instant asset in Oats' offense that leans heavily on the 3-ball and features shooters at the forefront of the gameplan.
In addition to Knueppel, Alabama has made strides with many top recruits in the upcoming class. Aiden Sherrell, a high-4-star forward, visited the Crimson Tide last fall, while Alabama recently made the cut lists for 5-stars Liam McNeely and Tre Johnson.
After losing top recruiter Bryan Hodgson last season to the Arkansas State head coaching position, Oats hired former Creighton assistant Preston Murphy, who will likely assume the lead recruiter role on the new staff and be heavily involved with these 2024 names and more.
