Alabama Softball Welcomes Former Northside Ram By Way of Transfer Portal
Alabama softball continues to add to its roster for the upcoming season as the Tide welcomes former Samford Bulldog outfielder, Kinley Pate.
Pate is from Tuscaloosa, graduating from Northside High School and earning First Team All-State honors as a senior in 2022. She started in 17 of her 36 games played as a freshman at Samford, batting .227 with two RBIs and eight stolen bases.
“Kinley is a green-light baserunner, has a really good short game, great bat control and is another fast outfielder," said Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy. "We welcome Kinley and her family to our Alabama softball family. We love that she is a local product of Northside High School.”
In her senior year of high school she stole 68 bases for the Rams while hitting .523 and tallying 25 RBIs.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Crimson Tide family. Being from Tuscaloosa, I have cheered on Alabama Softball for as long as I can remember and now my dream of playing for Alabama has come to life. I am so excited to make the most of this blessing and to give this program my all," said Pate.
Pate is the seventh new face to join the Tide and returns to Tuscaloosa with three years of eligibility.
