New Feel to Razorbacks After Tough Break With Pick-Six
STILLWATER, Okla. — Arkansas dominated the first part of the first half as Arkansas running back Ja'Quinden Jackson looked like the Doak Walker award winner with a pair of touchdowns, not Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon.
The Razorbacks led 14-0 when quarterback Taylen Green got hit as he threw the ball with 8:50 left in the second quarter. Oklahoma State's Kale Ramsey picked Green off and ran the ball all the way back 73 yards to cut the deficit in half at 14-7.
In previous years, the team folded. Arkansas gave up a 14-0 first quarter year last year against BYU to lose 34-31. After outgaining Oklahoma State 172-60 in the first quarter, the Razorbacks just found themselves in a one-score game.
This team though is different, Arkansas marched right down the field and scored with Jackson's third touchdown of the day in just seven plays.
The Hogs' defense held its end of the bargain as well. With Oklahoma State trying to cut into the lead again, cornerback Jaheim Singletary picked off quarterback Alan Bowman along the sidelines to maintain a healthy lead going into halftime.
So far, the Cowboys have followed our Hogs on Sports Illustrated scouting report from earlier in the week. That includes the floating pass picked off by SIngletary.
Oklahoma State historically has been one of the strongest one-possession teams in college football, Arkansas looks to maintain the same intensity in the second half to keep the Cowboys at arm's length.
