In this story:

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It's the second week in a row of what is essentially Arkansas' three-game preseason to real games. Kent State will be coming into Razorback Stadium and they simply don't have the depth and quality they'll face ... unless the Hogs play down to their level.

We've seen that before. Folks still remember things like Liberty last year, Toledo and a whole history of stumbles in these things. Every coach has had them somewhere and occasionally it ends up being a loss that costs a better bowl or something. Just playing the game too close, though, will get fans stirred up.

The biggest question right now for the Hogs is the status of starting running back Raheim "Rocket" Sanders who likely will be out for a couple of weeks rehabbing a knee injury. Coach Sam Pittman has mentioned that in a couple of media appearances during a busy week of that.

The truth is it shouldn't really matter with the depth they have on the roster. AJ Green and Rashod Dubinion are quite capable of filling in like they did in the Liberty Bowl win over Kansas back in December. They are going to have to for the next couple of week.

Basically, the main interest is if BYU next week is any good. They haven't exactly set anybody into a panic thus far. Pittman hasn't appeared too worried this week about much of anything. He's not the best in the world at covering that up, either. Next week might be a different issue.

The big test comes the following week against LSU on the road in Baton Rouge, La. Now next week Sam could be more worries about that game than anything BYU is bringing to town for next Saturday's game.

No, there's not really much reason to worry about Kent State coming to town Saturday. If we find out anything substantial, it probably won't be good. The only question is if they can cover the 38.5-point betting line on the game. If fans get upset about anything, that will be about it.

The Razorbacks take on Kent State Saturday at 3 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network and fuboTV.
