Arkansas Spring Football Preview: Running Backs
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With the spring football season kicking off on Thursday, it's time to take a look at who will be part of those workouts.
While the story of camp will be all the new faces, the first group to be featured will have deep familiarity among Razorback fans.
Here's a quick look at who will be in the running back room as the revamped team rebuilds throughout the spring.
RETURNING PLAYERS:
Raheim "Rocket" Sanders
6-2, 227, Jr.
RUSHING: 336-2021 [6.01]
RECEIVING: 39-380 [9.74]
TDs: 18
Best Game
Choosing a best game for Sanders is a more difficult task than it is for most backs. Usually there is one super game that stands out well above all the rest.
The trouble for Sanders is how consistent he is on producing several really good games as opposed to having a singular monster game.
Despite a couple of strong contenders, the performance against Ole Miss late in the season has enough to outshine the others.
Green ran for 232 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries for an average of barely under 10 yards per carry with a touchdown every eight carries. He also threw in 29 yards receiving on five catches.
AJ Green
5-11, 208, Jr.
RUSHING: 134-639 [4.77]
RECEIVING: 13-159 [12.23]
TDs: 5
Best Game
When it comes to bowl games, Green is a baller. His two biggest games came in the last two Razorback bowl appearances.
The strongest of those performances came this past December in the dramatic overtime win over Kansas. Green rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and added another 30 yards on four catches.
Rashod Dubinion
5-10, 211, Jr.
RUSHING: 71-293 [4.13]
RECEIVING: 12-108 [9.00]
TDs: 6
Best Game
This one isn't even close. When Arkansas had to call on Dubinion to bail them out of a difficult situation in the Liberty Bowl against Kansas, he was quick to answer.
Dubinion had his first 100+ yard game with 112 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns. He also had three catches for 19 yards for a 131 total yards.
Dominique Johnson
6-1, 247, R-Jr.
RUSHING: 105-618 [5.89]
RECEIVING: 7-71 [10.14]
TDs: 8
Best Game
Injuries limited Johnson in the 2022 season, so we reach back to 2021 for the game that really helped him burst onto the scene. Johnson was key to an upset win over No. 17 Mississippi State.
He had 107 yards on 17 carries with a pair of touchdowns to add impact. He also had a catch for seven yards just to show he can.
Yet to arrive

No longer with the team
