Razorbacks Land Dominant Defensive Tackle Transfer

One of FCS’ best announces commitment to Hogs in a much-needed position

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas landed one of the more impressive defensive linemen in the transfer portal with FCS Albany transfer Anton Juncaj committing to the Razorbacks.

Juncaj commits to Arkansas over offers from Oklahoma, Houston, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Texas A&M, Kansas, Arizona State, Arizona, Boston College and Indiana.

The 6-foot-3, 273 pounder dominated his competition in 2023 recording 55 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five forced fumbles, 12 quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.

The senior transfer will have one year left to play as a graduate transfer. Juncaj’s 15 sacks set a program record for the Great Danes while also leading the FCS. The Albany transfer was named an All-American following his performance this season.

The last time Arkansas went the FCS route for a dominant defensive tackle, big John Ridgeway came in an imposed his will on the SEC. During his one season with the Razorbacks in 2021, Ridgeway recorded 39 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks.

Coached by defensive line coach Deke Adams, the Razorbacks have been one of the most disruptive units in college football the past two seasons recording 72 sacks and 154 tackles for loss.

Arkansas signed long-time defensive lineman Kavion Henderson during the 2024 recruiting cycle. Adding another piece to the defensive tackle room was on Pittman’s wishlist on National Signing Day. Texas A&M transfer defensive tackle Isaiah Raikes also visited Fayetteville the same day as Juncaj.
