Razorbacks Add Another Receiver with Speed, but Few Catches
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas will be adding more speed at wide receiver. The announcement of Jordan Anthony's transfer from Texas A&M to the Razorbacks will be his third SEC team in three years, but just the second playing football for Bobby Petrino as an offensive coordinator. He has been mentioned as a target since announcing he was in the portal on Dec. 27.
The 247Sports composite four-star speedster from Tylertown, Mississippi originally attended Kentucky, where he ran track for the Wildcats. With the Hogs, he is apparently going to run on the Hogs' national powerhouse track program, but fans are hoping he brings something above the three catches he had with the Aggies last year.
Pete Thamel was the first to report the news on X, citing the A&P Agency as the source.
Speed isn't the problem, especially when you put him on the field with Isaiah Sategna and Andrew Armstrong returning. Being fast hasn't been the problem the last couple of years, but getting open has been.
Anthony's message on X was fairly short and simple a few minutes later. He is 5-10, 160, which likely means coming across the middle probably isn't his strongest suit, although on Petrino's long drag routes across the middle, he can get to open spaces just with his sheer speed.
