Razorbacks Hosting Several Top Transfers This Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — With the NCAA transfer window closed for now, Arkansas has the opportunity to pull in a few quality prospects to round out the current recruiting cycle. Sam Pittman detailed exactly what he believed his team needed in order to improve on a rather discouraging 4-8 season. Putting his wishlist to use, he has assembled a relatively long list of transfers for a visit this week.
Micah Mazzccua, OL
FLORIDA
Mazzccua played on the interior at right guard for the Gators starting 11-of-12 games this season with a grade of 67.4 from Pro Football Focus-College. He transferred to Gainesville following three seasons at Baylor where he was one of the best in the Big 12 in 2022. The 6-5, 338 pounder graded as the second best guard in the conference at 74.9.
A from commitment from Mazzcua to Arkansas wouldn’t be a complete surprise considering he played for current Arkansas offensive line coach Eric Mateos at Baylor. The transfer enters the portal as a 4-star, the No. 180 prospect and No. 11 amongst interior linemen, per 247sports.
Anton Juncaj, DL
ALBANY
He has already earned several high-major offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Houston, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Texas A&M, Kansas, Arizona State, Arizona, Boston College and Indiana. The 6-foot-3, 273 pounder dominated his competition in 2023 recording 55 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five forced fumbles, 12 quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.
Juncaj will have one year left to play as a graduate transfer. His 15 sacks set a program record for the Great Danes while also leading the FCS. The Albany transfer was named an All-American following his performance this season.
Ja’Quinden Jackson, RB
UTAH
A former top-50 player in the country during the 2020 recruiting cycle, the quarterback turned running back committed to Texas out of high school.
The Duncanville, Texas native transferred to Utah and developed nicely under Kyle Whittingham’s staff. At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Jackson rushed for a career high 797 yards on 161 carries and scored four touchdowns in 2023. During the 2022 season, he averaged seven yards per carry, 531 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Percy Lewis, OL
MISSISSIPPI STATE
Coach Sam Pittman shared his plan for a few more offensive linemen additions to in the transfer portal. Percy completely fits the bill at 6-foot-8, 345 pounds. The former Bulldog signed with Mississippi State at the No. 2 prospect out of North Mississippi Community College in 2022.
Lewis started the final seven games for the Bulldogs this season, not allowing a single sack. Arkansas has signed offensive linemen Keyshawn Blackstock (Michigan State), Fernando Carmona (San Jose State) and Addison Nichols (Tennessee) out of the transfer portal.
Isaiah Raikes, DL
SCHOOL
The 6-foot-1, 320 pound defensive tackle has been one of the key rotational pieces for the Aggies the past two season. Raikes has recorded 34 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks.
He was a high 3-star prospect during the 2020 cycle and committed to the Aggies over Penn State, Baylor, Louisville, Northwestern, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Marquise Robinson, DB
SOUTH ALABAMA
One of the more underrated transfers in the portal right is Marquise Robinson from South Alabama. The 6-foot-2, 185 pound cornerback played the previous two seasons with the Jaguars after starting his career in the junior college ranks. He played in all 13 games in 2023 recording 36 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, six pass break-ups and three interceptions.
Last week, Robinson told allHogs that Arkansas is "most definitely" a place to which he would consider transferring.
"The staff is fired up and ready to get things rolling in Fayetteville," Robinson said. "I feel that’s a great demeanor from the staff."
