Will It Matter? Razorbacks at Home Most of November
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas won't have a four-game road stretch in 2024, but don't think it's easy. The Razorbacks will be out of town four of the five Saturday's in September and none will be an easy game. Welcome to the new SEC.
In the schedules released for next year, the Razorbacks start the season with a brutal stretch. Still, there's wiggle room. Because of the transfer portal it's not possible handicap anything other than to say no one really has an easy schedule.
Considering six teams are ranked this year, it's safe to consider it a tough line-up. Throw in a road trip to play Oklahoma State in Stillwater the second week of the season, and you get the idea.
When the opponents were announced back in the summer, everyone assumed Arkansas was getting a break. After all, Alabama was off the schedule, Texas hadn't been legitimately good in forever, Auburn would be in Year 2 of a rebuild and Missouri and Mississippi State were still on the schedule. So much for that.
It's not just the Hogs. The entire league is playing a rugged line-up.
New-Look Schedule: Circled Game at End for Hogs
No one can make even an educated guess for several months as to who might have the most difficult schedule because of the insanity taking place with the transfer portal. There is no control over college athletics.
The NCAA is now the party planner for volleyball and gymnastics, The last remaining rule on transfers was eliminated in a court Tuesday and the NCAA isn't challenging anything. Expect complete chaos.
