FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Whether it had anything to do with it or not, Arkansas Razorbacks' guard Khalif Battle's 42 points against Missouri on Saturday may change what he does for pregame. Tonight, the Hogs will host Vanderbilt in an 8 p.m. game at Bud Walton Arena.

"I usually have two pieces of steak and shrimp alfredo before night games," he told David Bazzel and Roger Scott on The Morning Mayhem on 103.7 The Buzz in Little Rock on Tuesday morning. "I just had some fruit before [Missouri] game and I may be going with that again."

It's not a bad idea and players in all sports tend to have something like that before a big game and won't change it for awhile. The reality is it probably doesn't have an effect unless the player thinks it does. All in the mental aspect of the game. Like everybody else, he was struggling in SEC play that.

"Some things were getting into my head, I was just trying to stay positive" Battle said. "[Musselman] told me he was going to vouch for me and that no matter what and he's going to let me play my game, just go out there and be confident."

Battle said after the big win over the Tigers "not even the President" could keep him from putting up shots. Musselman's confidence may have carried over to the game. It hasn't been done very often in Razorback history but fans will be looking for that every game now.

Tonight game will be broadcast on the SEC Network. You can also hear the game on ESPN Arkansas 99.5 in Fayetteville, 95.3 in the River Valley, 96.3 in Hot Springs and 104.3 in Harrison-Mountain Home.
