Razorbacks Need Big Showing Against Duke This Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas won't be coming into Wednesday night's game with Duke riding any kind of high from the Bahamas. After going 1-2 on Paradise Island and an injury to the most consistent Razorback on the trip, nobody's really pumped.
Besides, there's all sorts of drama around football after they let go of the rope early in a 48-14 loss to Missouri on Saturday. The Arkansas basketball team hasn't reached that poing yet,, but if Eric Musselman is preparing for an NCAA run, his team is going to need some of these wins to even get there.
The biggest question mark is the status around Tramon Mark, who was carted off the floor Saturday on a stretcher with a cervical collar on. That's a scary sight for anybody and fans were holding their breath. It didn't take long for the Hogs to release a statement:
""Arkansas junior Tramon Mark has been released from a local hospital. He had an MRI which showed no significant injury to his back and he will be allowed to travel back to Fayetteville with the team tomorrow morning (Nov. 25).
"He was injured with 1:12 left in the North Carolina game and was taken off the court on a stretcher. He had scored a career-high 34 points prior to the injury and was later named to the Battle 4 Atlantis All-Tournament team."
Mark's health status should be revealed fairly soon this week. There will certainly be some sort of media briefing from Hogs coach Eric Musselman before Wednesday's highly-anticipated game with No. 9 Duke in Bud Walton Arena at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN and fuboTV.
