Scott Shines Again, Razorbacks Back to Winning Ways Against Louisiana Tech
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The season of Taliah Scott continued with arguably her most efficient performance yet. Scott scored 18 of her 29 points in the first half en route to a wire-to-wire 100-60 Arkansas win over Louisiana Tech.
Scott, who came into the game having won SEC Freshman of the Week three weeks in a row, smashed her season average of 23.2 points in yet another dominant showing needing just 19 shots to record her seventh 20+ point performance in just her 10th collegiate game.
"I have obviously coached Kelsey Plum (two-time WNBA champion who played college basketball under coach Mike Neighbors at Washington)," Neighbors said. "I don't know where the numbers stand now through 10 games, but I know it's ahead of pace. What she's starting to learn is she is eliminating hard shots."
The Razorbacks started fast from the opening possession and never looked back. The Hogs came into the game averaging the sixth most attempts from beyond the arc with 30.6. True to form, the Hogs relied on the three-ball to blitz Louisiana Tech. Arkansas went 6-for-10 from deep in the opening quarter alone, including a three at the buzzer from Samara Spencer to stretch the lead to 27-12.
Spencer and the rest of the team continued the contagious shooting, as the Hogs shot a sparkling 20-33 in the first half and took a 51-24 lead into the break.

Saylor Poffenbarger's massive spike in production from last season compliments the dominance of Scott. Nearly doubling her rebound total from 6.9 to 12 per game, Poffenbarger recorded her third double-double of the season tallying 12 points and 11 boards to go along with five steals.
"I'm in a lot better shape than I was last year," Poffenbarger said. "I put in a lot of work to be in this shape, so I think it helps me be more active and all over."
Arkansas continued its dominant play in the second half, finishing the game with both their highest point total and field goal percentage on the season and crossing the century mark for the first time this season as five different Razorbacks hit double figures, including Jenna Lawrance, whose layup with less than a minute to play got Razorbacks to an even 100.
The Hogs will conclude the homestand with in-state rival Arkansas Pine-Bluff 1 p.m. Dec. 10. The game will be streamed on the SEC Network.
