FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Since it became clear earlier this week that Eric Musselman no longer had any interest in returning as Arkansas head coach, former Hogs guard Davonte Davis has been about as subtle as Isabella from "Phineas & Ferb" about his interest in rekindling a relationship with Razorbacks fans.

Back on Tuesday Davis put out a video that highlighted his love and dedication to Arkansas.

The timing and quality raised eyebrows. Fans struggled to interpret whether Davis was simply putting the last word out about his love for the program and making sure their final memory of him was of all the good times or if he was hinting toward changing his mind about transferring.

The day after Musselman split for Los Angeles, a TikTok video of Davis singing a specifically titled song in the Razorbacks' practice facility began making the rounds on social media. It is unclear when this was filmed. All that is certain is he went live while doing it, hence the comments popping up.

Davis has alway been notorious for his midnight workouts in the practice facility. He also spent a lot of his time at Arkansas filming dances in the practice facilty and the locker room to post on TikTok.

At this point the cupboard is relatively bare at Arkansas. Even the walk-ons are bailing on the Hogs' program.

Fans might be bitter about Davis stepping away from the program twice, but the Razorbacks not only need bodies, they need someone who has shown true love for the program who can serve as a bridge to help the new coach navigate the waters of the culture and fandom. There are worse ideas than giving a player responsible for so many hallmark moments for the program getting a fresh start in a familiar place.

Whether Davis is truly angling for a return to Arkansas remains to be seen. If not, he's doing a terrible job of showing he's moved on.
