After landing three top Transfer Portal defensive linemen, the Auburn Tigers are now the predicted team to beat for one of the best wide receivers.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, former Penn State Nittany Lion KeAndre Lambert-Smith will pick the Tigers. Going by 2023 statistics, Lambert-Smith is the best receiver from Penn State's team. CFBStats has him with 53 receptions, 673 yards, 12.7 yards per catch, and 4 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound wide receiver is going to be entering his fifth college football season. For his career, ESPN has Lambert Smith with 126 receptions, 1,721 yards, a 13.7 average, and 11 touchdowns.

Looking at his Pro Football Focus statistics, his 656 total snaps are a sign that Lambert-Smith is a hard player to take off the field. To that point, Lambert-Smith would provide Auburn with a receiver capable of playing in the slot or out wide. 30.8% of his 2023 snaps come from the slot and 69.2% from out wide. There's another key element to bringing the former Penn State player to the Plains.

With Auburn possessing four true freshmen at the wide receiver position, players like Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman will be able to learn from a proven veteran player. One of the concerns with Auburn's 2023 roster is so much inexperience to begin with, so Lambert-Smith helps in that regard as well.

If Auburn does indeed land the former Nittany Lion, there's a lot to like about this shifty wide receiver from the Transfer Portal.
