Auburn Recruiting: Tigers Are In A Position To Land A Top Offensive Line Class
For years, Auburn has struggled to sign a top offensive line class from top-to-bottom.
The 2025 Auburn recruiting haul already has two talented offensive line recruits in the fold, and there are several more top targets whom Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thornton has a chance to land as well.
The list of top targets has gotten big, and it's fascinating to consider the different possibilities for the final list of Auburn's offensive line haul. Here are five of the possible offensive line recruiting additions, among several.
Even if two of them sign to play on the Plains, the Tigers will have placed themselves in a tremendous situation moving forward. Three of them would place Auburn in elite territory.
Note: Each ranking comes from the Rivals. No specific order to the recruits below.
Josh Petty 6-5 260 Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School 4-Star
On3's Chad Simmons just posted Petty's spring unofficial visits. Auburn is going to be hosting the Peach State prospect on March 19. The Tigers need at least two pure offensive tackles in the 2025 class and Petty is arguably as athletic as any other offensive tackle in the country. Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Florida State are also receiving unofficial visits from Petty.
I will be seeing Petty perform this weekend. More about how he looked and where the Tigers stand soon.
Tavaris Dice 6-5 293 Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes 4-Star
Dice has traveled to Auburn several times and the Tigers are the odds-on favorites to land him. He was as physically impressive as any offensive line recruit at the Under Armour Atlanta Camp and possesses a world of upside at tackle or guard; he's open to playing either position. Dice could be in the Auburn recruiting fold before spring is over.
Mario Nash, Jr. 6-5 285 De Kalb (Miss.) Kemper County 4-Star
Nash's recruitment is on a serious uptick. He was fantastic during the Atlanta Under Armour Camp and especially so during one-on-ones with top defensive line recruits. His recruitment could go in numerous directions but do not be surprised if Nash ends up visiting Auburn and several other SEC programs. He's as natural an offensive tackle as one will find.
Update: Nash just messaged me that he is indeed going to visit Auburn.
Micah DeBose 6-5 320 Prichard (Ala.) Vigor 4-Star
Power. That's what DeBose possesses more than anything else. He could end up playing guard or tackle in college. LSU and Auburn are the most likely landing spots as of now, with some believing the Bayou Bengals are the team to beat. As an in-state recruit for Auburn, this would be a major blow to its 2025 recruiting efforts. Keep an eye on DeBose's recruitment. It's a long way until the December National Signing Day.
Cortez Smith 6-3 305 Snellville (Ga.) Parkview 4-Star
Smith will be heading to the Plains on March 16 for an unofficial visit. That's good news for the Tigers, but they still must defeat teams like Georgia (favorite), Florida State, Miami, and South Carolina, among others, to land Smith.
