Amaris Williams Signs With The Auburn Tigers!
The #34 recruit in the nation just announced for the Auburn Tigers! Amaris Williams is a 6-foot-2 and 265-pound defensive end from Clinton (N.C.) High School.
Adding Williams to a defensive line haul that includes Pike Road (Ala.) High School's Malik Blocton, Miami (Fla.) Norland's Dimitry Nicolas, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy's TJ Lindsey, and Picayune (Miss.) Picayune Memorial's Jamonta Waller places Auburn among the nation's defensive line classes. His commitment also helps to propel the Tigers into the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings.
2024 Auburn Tigers Commitment List and Evaluations
Originally a Florida Gators commitment, his official visit list included Penn State (June 2), Florida (June 16), Ohio State (Oct. 21), and Auburn (Dec. 10).
As a senior, Williams is an athlete who played wildcat quarterback, running back, wing back, defensive end, and linebacker despite his size; he's a twitchy player. It's fun to watch him run the football or bring down a smaller running back by running him down from behind.
As Williams continues to grow into his frame, he could play several different roles for the Tigers. Look for Williams to play defensive end, to start, and his role will likely expand to being a part of the nickel and dime units.
With Williams joining the Auburn program, it's another sign that the Tigers are rising up the SEC ranks.
