The Auburn Tigers have long since known that Walker White would be their 2024 quarterback signee, and National Signing Day has seen him officially put pen to paper before heading to the Plains.

Size: 6-foot-4, 220 pounds

Position: Quarterback

High School: Little Rock (Ark.) Christian Academy

Recruitment: Many believed it would be Ole Miss for the mobile quarterback. Auburn kept recruiting White hard and he loved his time spent at Auburn. That led to him committing to the Tigers on Feb. 3, 2023.

White has been placed as a consensus 4-star recruit by Rivals, ESPN, On3, and 247. His highest overall ranking comes from 247 which ranked White the #101 player for the class of 2024.

Strengths: The arm strength that White has shown to date has been eye-opening. Whether passing from the pocket, using a bootleg to move to his right or left, or even scrambling to avoid a sack and still completing a pass, White's arm strength stood out.

From that point, White's mobility has been a major weapon to help him throw or run. He's even shown the ability to gain big chunks of yardage when he takes off, and that will certainly benefit Auburn down the line.

Area to Improve: White will need to learn Hugh Freeze's offensive playbook as fast as possible. He has proven that arm talent and mobility were already a part of his resume, but now it's about knowledge. If White grasps the Auburn offensive playbook, do not be surprised if he is a strong contender to start for Auburn in 2025.

White’s ability to fire a bullet on the run is also a prime attribute. He’s mobility allows him to flourish in the run-pass option game, as well as when he decides to just tuck the football and take off. He will fit in well into Freeze’s offensive scheme.

Auburn landing White – and keeping him away from Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss – was a big recruiting win for Freeze and his coaching staff.
