Auburn is bringing in a big-time juco target to solidify a position of need in 2024.

Auburn has landed Jackson Castillo, a juco outfielder from San Diego, California.

He is currently a sophomore at the College of Southern Nevada.

Castillo is off to a hot start in 2023, batting .426 through 19 games. He has seven home runs so far this season.

He has walked 20 times and been hit by a pitch seven times already on this young season giving him an impressive .610 on-base percentage.

Castillo has stolen ten bases already this year, so he is a serious threat on the base paths.

He was also impressive throughout his freshman campaign, batting .314 with 14 homers and 54 rbi's.

The six-foot outfielder is a mix of everything you need since he hits for power but also can find a way to get on base and then steal bases when he has gotten on. Castillo's swing is compact, which leads me to believe the transition to the SEC won't be too hard on him.

Castillo has picked a perfect time to head to the Plains, as Auburn will lose Bobby Peirce, Justin Kirby, and Kason Howell after the 2023 season.

So this means he will come in and compete for playing time in the outfield right away.

This is a big-time player the coaching staff has brought in, and it will be a joy to watch him in an Auburn uniform.
