A beautiful day at Plainsman Park turned into a chilly evening as the Tigers opened up their season. 

Auburn won their Opening Day ball game by a score of 8-4. 

Auburn had 11 hits, including three from true freshman Ike Irish. 

Tiger pitching held the Hoosiers to only four runs on five hits. 

The Tigers will look to take the series on Saturday at 2 pm ct as Joseph Gonzalez takes the mound.

Ninth Inning Auburn leads 8-4

Will Cannon is on to try and close it out for the Tigers. 

Cannon gets the strike three call and the Tigers are two outs away from an opening day victory. 

A fly out to center field is the second out of the inning. 

Cannon hit the batter which gives Indiana a two out base runner. 

A base hit puts runners at the corners with two down. 

Strike three and the Tigers win it on opening day!

Auburn wins it 8-4!

Second Inning Auburn leads 1-0

A leadoff hit from Indiana has a man on with no one out. 

A two run blast give Indiana a 2-1 lead. 

Allsup bounces back with a strike out. One down for the Tigers in the top of the second. 

A walk gives Indiana another base runner with one down. 

Another strikeout gives Auburn it's second out of the inning. Still a man on first. 

A base hit gives Indiana men on first and second with two outs. 

Allsup's pitch count is already up to 44 with two down in the top of the second. 

Tanner Bauman is up in the pen for Auburn. 

A fly out to Peirce ends the top of the second. We head to the bottom with Indiana leading 2-1. 

Lindsay Crosby's scouting report on Allsup: Allsup's velo is fluctuating a little more in the 2nd, and this goes back to something Schoenrock said last week about Allsup - "He's going to be a high pitch count guy. I've never had the physical ability to throw a baseball 97 miles per hour, but if I could, it'd be hard for me to not to try and throw it 99. Sometimes that creeps into Chase." He's overthrowing right now, and needs to settle and use his secondaries more instead of just throwing to pump gas at every batter. He's done better in the 2nd at mixing in both breaking balls - let's see if he can settle in at 94 with both secondaries working.

Bryson Ware will step into the box with one down. 

A one out single from Ware gives Auburn a base runner. 

Caden Green steps in for the Tigers. 

Green walks which will bring up Peirce for his second at bat of the game.

Foster draws a walk and the bases are loaded for true freshman Irish. 

Irish grounds out to short and that will end the second inning. 

We head to the third with Indiana leading 2-1. 

Seventh Inning Auburn leads 8-4

Bryson Ware.

Armstorng is back out for the Tigers in the seventh. 

A swinging bunt is taken care of by LaRue. Great play from him there to save a base hit. One down in the inning. 

A groundout to Ware is the second out of the inning. 

A strikeout ends the inning. Armstrong is looking great early. He's filling up the zone and keeping that sinker low. 

We head to the bottom of the seventh with Auburn leading 8-4. 

Peirce hits one hard but the defender caught it on the warning track. 

Foster grounds out to the first baseman for the second out of the inning.

Irish hits one hard but right at the second baseman. 

That was a quick inning there from both sides. We head to the eighth inning with Auburn leading 8-4. 

Sixth Inning Auburn leads 8-4

A ground out to Green gets Auburn its first out of the sixth. 

Another groundout to Green means two down for the Hoosiers. 

A groundout to Foster ends the top of the sixth. 

We head to the home half with Auburn leading 8-4. 

A new pitcher is in for Indiana to face the 7,8,9 hitters from Auburn. 

Howell pops out to short stop for the first out of the inning. 

Ware grounds out for the second out of the inning. 

Green will try and get things going for the Tigers with two down. 

A groundout to short will end the sixth. We head to the seventh with Auburn leading 8-4. 

Fifth Inning Auburn leads 6-2

Bauman is back out for his third inning of work. 

A base hit gives Indiana a lead off base runner.

A hit batsman puts men on first and second with no one out.  

A groundout to Ware gets Auburn's first out of the inning. Men on second and third for the Hoosiers. 

A groundout to second gets Auburn their second out of the inning but Indiana does score to tighten the game. Auburn still leads 6-3. 

An error from Ware scores the run to make it a 6-4 game. Man on first with two down for the Hoosiers. 

A walk ends Bauman's day. 

John Armstrong is in for the Tigers hoping to end the fifth inning. 

Men on first and second with two down. 

A strikeout from Armstrong ends the inning. 

We head to the bottom of the fifth with Auburn leading 6-4. 

A base hit from Green gives the Tigers a leadoff runner. 

A bad throw pulls the second baseman off the bag and everyone is safe. 

Men on first and second for Foster. 

Foster is down on strikes that will bring up Irish. 

Confirmed Ike Irish is him. Irish rips a double down the line to extend Auburn's lead to 7-4. 

Men on second and third with one out for Kirby. 

Kirby draws a walk to load the bases. 

LaRue flies out to center and Peirce will score from third. 

Auburn leads 8-4. 

McMurray will try to add to the lead. 

McMurray down on strikes and we head to the sixth with the Tigers leading 8-4. 

Fourth Inning Auburn leads 4-2

Bauman is back out for his second inning of work. 

Bauman hits the Hoosier hitter in the helmet and they have a leadoff base runner. 

An awkward play leads to a force out at second. One down with a man still on first.

A pop out to LaRue is the second out of the inning.  

A Bauman strikeout ends the top of the fourth. 

We head to the bottom with Auburn leading 4-2. 

Ike Irish leads of the bottom of the fourth with a base knock. 

Man on first with no one out for Kirby. 

BYE BYE BASEBALL! Kirby sends one over the monster and Auburn leads 6-2. 

LaRue grounds out to short for the first out of the inning. 

McMurray goes down on strikes. 

Howell steps in to try and spark a two out rally. 

A double down the line gives Auburn a man in scoring position. 

Ware steps in for the Tigers.

Chase Allsup's day is done. 

Bauman gets one out on one pitch via a groundout to third. 

A strikeout gets Auburn their second out of the inning. 

Another strikeout and Bauman sends them down in order in the Third. 

That was a very impressive inning for Bauman he works really fast and fills up the zone. 

We head to the bottom of the third with Indiana leading 2-1. 

Kirby draws a walk to give the Tigers a leadoff base runner. 

LaRue goes down on strikes. 

McMurray drives a liner for a base hit. Men of first and second for Howell. 

A Howell single loads the bases for Ware. 

The day is over for Indiana starter Seiler new arm coming in for the Hoosiers with the bases jacked. 

Ware rips a base hit between short and third to tie the game 2-2. Ware already has two base knocks in this game. 

Bases still loaded for Green with one down. 

A fielders choice gets the out at second but a run scores for the Tigers. Auburn leads 3-2. 

Men on the corners with two down for Peirce. 

A passed ball scores Howell from third. Auburn leads 4-2. 

A base hit from Peirce gives Auburn runners at the corners once again with two down.

Foster will look to add to the lead.

Foster puts a charge in one but the center fielder runs it down. 

We head to the fourth with Auburn leading 4-2.

Chase Allsup heads out to the mound and the Auburn baseball season is underway!

Allsup strikes out the Hoosiers short stop and we have one down in the top of the first. 

Allsup walks the two hole hitter and there is a man aboard for Indiana. 

The Hoosier three hole hitter swing through a Allsup fastball and there are two down here in the top of the first. 

A sharp liner to Bobby Peirce in left ends the top of the first. 

We head to the home half of the first inning with no score. 

Allsup looked good in his first inning of work. His fastball is heavy and the Hoosier batters were struggling to contact it. 

Auburn will be facing a low velocity left handed pitcher in Ben Seiler. 

Bobby Peirce grounds out to short stop on the second pitch he sees. 

Cole Foster will step in for Auburn. 

After going up in the count 3-0 Foster goes down on strikes. 

Ike Irish slaps a grounder to shortstop and beats it out for a two out single. 

Congrats to Irish on his first collegiate hit. 

Now Justin Kirby will try and keep the inning going. 

Irish is able to advance to second on a ball in the dirt. 

Kirby draws a two out walk and the Tigers have men on first and second. 

Nate LaRue will try and get Auburn on the board. 

A hard hit ball by LaRue leads to the Hoosier short stop making a bad throw trying to retire Kirby at second and Irish scores. 

Auburn leads 1-0. 

That was some great base running by Irish. 

Cooper McMurray will try and extend the lead. 

McMurray is down on strikes and we head to the second inning with Auburn leading 1-0.

Friday: 4:00 pm CT

Saturday: 2:00 pm CT

Sunday: 1:00 pm CT

All three games will be broadcast on the SEC Network+. JJ Jackson, Gregg Olson, and Mark Fuller will call the action.

The games can be heard on the Auburn Sports Network. Tune into 93.9 FM and 95.9 FM. Brad Law and Mark Fuller will have the call.
