Takeaways: Auburn beats Air Force 8-4

Auburn took on the Air Force Falcons today and came away with a win. What are the biggest things to take away from the game?

The No. 13 Auburn Tigers beat the Air Force Falcons 8-4 at Plainsman Park this afternoon.

Auburn jumped out to a quick lead and never gave it up.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Conner McBride had another solid showing on the mound

Conner McBride earned his second win of the season with his performance.

In five innings of work, McBride allowed only two runs off of seven hits, struck out four batters while walking none and 47 of his 70 pitches were strikes.

McBride has shown why he will be a valuable part of Auburn's rotation this season.

Deric Fabian cooked at the plate

The third baseman who transferred to Auburn from Florida this offseason has been heating up recently.

Fabian went 3-3 today with two home runs, three RBI and scored two runs.

Fabian was a valuable pickup for Auburn through the transfer portal this offseason.

Stranded runners were a theme

Leaving runners on base has started to become a recurring thing for Auburn.

Both the Tigers and the Falcons stranded 11 runners.

Auburn needs to find a way to get more of those runners across the plate.

Auburn is now 10-2 on the season.
