Auburn picked up a win over Austin Peay in its first game of the series. What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

The No. 13 Auburn Tigers opened up the weekend with a 7-6 win over the Austin Peay Governors.

Auburn jumped out in front early, but Austin Peay took the lead as the game continued. A late comeback and walk-off home run by Christian Hall gave the Tigers a win in the first game of the series.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Christian Hall was clutch

Auburn's designated hitter got off to an 0-3 start at the plate this afternoon but came up big when it mattered the most.

Hall hit a home run over the right field wall to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth inning.

This home run ended up being an important one in helping Auburn pick up the win.

Mason Maners and Cooper McMurray led Auburn at the plate

Maners and McMurray both went 2-3. McMurray had three RBI and Maners hit a walk-off home run.

These were the only Tigers to record two hits in this game.

Tanner Bauman came up big at the end

Auburn's pitching staff did not have its best day, but Bauman came up big at the end of the game.

He pitched the last 1.1 innings of the game and earned his second win of the season in the process. He struck one batter out and 12 of his 19 pitches were strikes.

Auburn is now 11-2 on the season.
