3 things to know about the South Carolina Gamecocks

Auburn will be looking to bounce back against South Carolina tomorrow night. What are three things to know about the Gamecocks?

The No. 13 Auburn Tigers return to action tomorrow to host the No. 11 South Carolina Gamecocks at home inside Neville Arena.

Auburn is looking to get back on track after falling to the Florida Gators on the road on Saturday. South Carolina has won seven straight games and is looking to continue its hot streak.

What are three things to know about the South Carolina Gamecocks?

South Carolina is a force defensively

Defense has been the name of the game throughout South Carolina's winning streak.

The Gamecocks have not allowed an opponent to score 70 points over its last seven games and have only done so twice during conference play.

Auburn will need to have a good day offensively or South Carolina could end Auburn's streak of good fortune at home.

South Carolina's offense is diverse

The Gamecocks offense is secondary to their defense, but it can still put points on the board.

Meechie Johnson, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, leads South Carolina in scoring with 14.1 points per game, but the Gamecocks have had a lot of players contribute on the offensive end of the floor.

Collin Murray-Boyles, a 6-foot-7 freshman forward who is South Carolina's fifth-highest scorer, scored 31 points in the Gamecocks' win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Despite not scoring the most points, South Carolina can do a lot offensively. Auburn needs to have a good performance defensively in order to defend home court.

Free-throws are not one of South Carolina's biggest strengths

The Gamecocks are shooting 71.8% from the free-throw line as a team, placing them at No. 9 in the SEC.

Sending South Carolina to the line at times could be a good alternative to letting it drive to the basket for Auburn.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on SEC Network and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
