3 Things To Know About the Tennessee Volunteers

Auburn will be looking to pick up its second-straight road win tomorrow when it takes on Tennessee. What are the most important things to know about the Volunteers?

The No. 11 Auburn Tigers travel up to Knoxville to take on the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers at Thompson-Boeing Arena tomorrow night.

Auburn will be looking to win its second road game in a row. Tennessee will be looking for its fifth straight win.

What are some of the most important things to know about the Tennessee Volunteers?

Dalton Knecht

Dalton Knecht has been one of the biggest stories in college basketball this season. The 6-foot-6 senior from Thornton, Colorado transferred from Northern Colorado to Tennessee this offseason and has gone from an unknown player to a projected Lottery Pick in this year's NBA Draft.

Knecht leads Tennessee in scoring with 20.1 points per game. He also averages five rebounds and two assists per game and shoots 47.7% from the field.

Slowing down Knecht will be crucial for Auburn's success in this game.

Tennessee is one of the best defensive teams in the country

The Volunteers allow the second-fewest points per game in the SEC behind South Carolina, allowing only 66.6.

Auburn, who has struggled offensively at times this season, could run into trouble when it comes to putting points on the board.

The Tigers' defense is right behind the Volunteers, however, as Auburn allows only 67.3 points per game on average.

Rebounds and turnovers are important when playing Tennessee

The team that can grab more rebounds and put more second-chance points on the board and the team that takes better care of the ball will be in a prime position to win the game.

Auburn and Tennessee are close in both categories statistically and will be looking for an advantage.

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on ESPN2 and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
