Five-star 2024 PG Tahaad Pettiford commits to Auburn
Auburn has landed one of the best point guards of the 2024 class.
Tahaad Pettiford, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound guard out of Jersey City, New Jersey has committed to Auburn, per his social media. He is rated as a five-star in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He chose the Tigers over the likes of UConn, Kansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, and UCLA.
Pettiford is Auburn's second commit in the 2024 class alongside four-star center Peyton Marshall.
He fits the mold of typical Bruce Pearl point guards - undersized, but smooth with the ball in his hands and fun in transition. The southpaw should be a valuable addition to Auburn's 2024 backcourt, which will likely be lacking serious experience with the departure of Wendell Green Jr.
Auburn is also looking at Labaron Philon for the 2024 class a four-star guard with some height that is a natural scorer.
Pettiford's only official visit was with Pearl and the Tigers. He harped on going to a team that will allow the players to lead in a locker room that cares about what's going on both on and off the court.
