AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn point guard Aden Holloway (Charlotte, N.C.) has earned Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.

In his collegiate debut last week, he averaged 15 points and 4.5 assists per game against No. 20-ranked Baylor and Southeastern Louisiana combined. Holloway led Auburn with a team-high 19 points and six assists in 26 minutes of play versus the Bears in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He was one point shy of becoming the fourth freshman in program history to score 20 points in a debut. His 19 points was tied for fifth most among all NCAA Division I freshmen in a season opener this season.

Holloway followed that performance up with 11 points and three assists in an 86-71 victory over the Lions in the Tigers’ home opener at Neville Arena.

For the week, the McDonald’s All-American and five-star recruit for the Tigers converted 7-of-16 shots from 3-point range. He currently boasts a 3.00 assist-to-turnover ratio, which ranks fifth-best in the SEC.

Auburn travels to Brooklyn to take on Notre Dame on Thursday, November 16th at 8:00 pm CT on ESPN2. The Fighting Irish are coming off of a 71-61 loss to Western Carolina at home.
