Auburn is a seven seed in Joe Lunardi's recent Bracketology update
The Auburn Tigers dropped down a spot to a 7th seed in the East Bracket in the latest ESPN Bracketology update after a tough loss to App State on Sunday.
With that said, according to the latest update, Auburn would face off against 10th-seed Cincinnati in the first round. Should they win that contest, they would likely face off against 2nd seed UConn in the second round.
The Houston Cougars are currently the 1st seed in the East Bracket with a record of 8-0 going into week five.
Six other SEC teams are currently in the field for the NCAA tournament; here is a quick breakdown of where they sit currently:
West Bracket:
- The Arkansas Razorbacks go into week five as the 9th seed with a 6-3 record.
- The Tennessee Volunteers are currently situated as the 3rd seed with a 4-3 record.
Midwest Bracket:
- Alabama heads into week five as a 5th seed with a 6-2 record.
East Bracket:
- The Mississippi State Bulldogs go into week five as the 8th seed with a 6-2 record, just behind the Auburn Tigers.
South Bracket:
- The Texas A&M Aggies are situated as the 4th seed headed into week five with a 6-2 record.
- The Kentucky Wildcats aren’t far behind going into week five as the 6th seed, also with a 6-2 record on the current season.
