Denver Jones had a night

The 6-foot-4 guard from New Market, Alabama had one of his best games in an Auburn uniform so far.

Jones set his season-high in scoring with 19 points which made him the game's second-highest scorer behind Jaylin Williams who had 21. He shot 6-11 from the field and 4-8 from 3-point range.

It has taken some time for Jones to adjust to SEC play, but a performance like the one he had tonight shows that he is well on his way.

Auburn shot well from 3-point range

The Tigers have been up and down from beyond the arc so far this season, but their numbers tend to be better when playing inside the friendly confines of Neville Arena.

After back-to-back off-nights from 3-point range in its road losses to Alabama and Mississippi State, Auburn shot 10-26 or 38.5%.

Jones and Williams were Auburn's leaders from deep range, shooting 4-8 AND 3-4 respectively.

Auburn got out of its rebounding slump

Mississippi State dominated Auburn on the boards on Saturday, the Tigers did not let that happen again tonight.

Auburn out-rebounded Vanderbilt 45-34 total, 12-11 on the offensive end and 33-23 on the defensive end.

A performance like this one is exactly what the doctor ordered for Auburn on the glass. The Tigers were able to record 11 second-chance points as a result of the effort.

What's Next?

Auburn will be back in action on Saturday when it takes on the Ole Miss Rebels on the road in Oxford at 5 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on SEC Network and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
