SEC Basketball Power Rankings: Vols Remain On Top
We're still in the very early stages of the college basketball season, but there have already been a number of good matchups involving SEC teams.
Kentucky's game against Kansas last Tuesday was the marquee game of the SEC schedule and unfortunately for the Cats, they came out on the losing end. The Jayhawks, led by Hunter Dickinson's double-double (27 points/21 rebounds) downed UK 89-84. Kentucky was paced by Antonio Reeves 24 points and 8 rebounds.
The Auburn Tigers traveled to New York where they won the Legends Classic in Brooklyn. The Tigers took care of Notre Dame 83-89 in the opening game and beat St. Bonaventure 77-60 in the championship game Friday night. Johni Broome was named the tournament MVP as he averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds through the two games.
Florida hosted rival Florida State and Sent the Seminoles back to Tallahassee with an "L" defeating them 89-68. Gators guard Walter Clayton Jr. dropped 19 points and 5 assists in the win.
LSU faced off with Dayton in the Shirner's Children's Charleston Classic. The Tigers hung tough, but eventually fell to the Flyers 70-67. Jalen Reed led the way for the Tigers with 16 points in the loss.
