Takeaways: Auburn WBB beats Washington State 69-62

Auburn women's basketball picks up its seventh win in a row.

Auburn women's basketball keeps on rolling. The Tigers knocked off the Washington State Cougars 69-62 at home inside Neville Arena this afternoon to improve to 10-2 on the season.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Auburn had a great game from 3-point range

The 3-point shot has been a struggle for Auburn this season but that was not the case today.

Auburn went 5-10 for 50 percent from beyond the arch. Honesty Scott-Grayson went 2-5, Celia Sumbane went 2-2 and Kaitlyn Duhon went 1-1.

If Auburn can consistently shoot around 50 percent from 3-point range, it will be able to win games in conference play.

Auburn saw an all-around effort offensively

Auburn had a lot of players contribute on the offensive side of the floor.

Only three Tigers scored in double-figures: Scott-Grayson had 17 points, JaMya Mingo-Young scored 12 points and Taylen Collins scored 10 points.

Auburn had three other players score more than five points and every Tiger with the exception of McKenna Eddings who saw the floor scored.

Auburn took better care of the ball

Auburn turned the ball over 12 times which led to 14 points for Washington State.

Washington State turned the ball over 20 times which led to 23 points for Auburn.

In a close game, that is ultimately what made the difference.

What's next?

Auburn returns to action on Dec. 31 when it hosts the North Alabama Lions at home inside Neville Arena for its final non-conference game. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the broadcast can be found on SEC Network+ or heard locally on 100.3 FM.
