What did Auburn's head coach have to say after Auburn's win over the Bulldogs?

The No. 11 Auburn Tigers picked up a 78-63 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs at home this afternoon.

What did Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl have to say after the game?

"I thought the fact that we played well early, shot it well early, and the fact that we were able to turn them over 10 times and get them to run their offense way away from their comfort zone made it harder for them to get the ball into their deep touches," Pearl said.

Pearl gave credit to Mississippi State head coach Chris Jans.

"He's a great coach," Pearl said. "His teams play hard, they play physically. He's doing some really good things offensively."

Pearl talked about how pleased he was with the play from forwards Chaney Johnson and Jaylin Williams.

"We got great play out of the position," Pearl said. "We got double figures from both of them. The four spot was really productive tonight."

Auburn got off to a fast start today and Pearl talked about the importance of continuing to do so.

"I think it’s especially important in tournament play and on the road," Pearl said. "You’ve got to get off to good starts on the road. I think that’s one thing that Coach Jans knew is: man, it’s hard to win on the road. But you usually don’t win on the road if you don’t start well."

Auburn returns to action on Tuesday when it takes on the Missouri Tigers on the road at 8 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on SEC Network and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
