What did Bruce Pearl have to say ahead of the Vanderbilt game?

What did Auburn's head coach have to say prior to the team's matchup with the Vanderbilt Commodores?

The No. 16 Auburn Tigers host the Vanderbilt Commodores at home inside Neville Arena tonight.

What did Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl have to say prior to the game?

Pearl talked about how his team has responded to the adversity of the two-game skid.

"I thought they handled it ok," Pearl said. "Johni Broome really stepped up. Our team did a great job of guarding Tolu Smith, but it wouldn't have happened without Johni."

Pearl talked about the benefits of hitting a skid now as opposed to during March.

"I think it happens to everybody at some point in the league," Pearl said. "Once you get into league play, and there are going to be a lot of 9-9's in this league, some will make the NCAA Tournament."

Pearl talked about some things that Vanderbilt does well and how they could challenge Auburn.

"Vanderbilt is going to score early in the clock, they've got some dynamic players in transition," Pearl said. "They're a dangerous team, they've got two great guards and four or five really good players. They're dangerous in transition, they know how to make tough shots. Their bench can make threes.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on ESPN2 and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics App.
