What did Bruce Pearl have to say following Auburn's loss to Florida?
The No. 12 Auburn Tigers fell 81-65 at the hand of the Florida Gators on the road in Gainesville.
What did Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl have to say after the game?
They played great, they were really well prepared," Pearl said. "They were more physical. They didn't turn the ball over they took great care of the ball. Defensively, we weren't as effective when we only have one steal.
Pearl talked about what caused Auburn to struggle defensively.
"There were several things that we game-planned to do that we didn't actually even do," Pearl said. "Florida's guards are really good, like really good. Like as good as anybody's guards."
Pearl talked about what it was like to coach against one of his former assistants in Todd Golden.
"I love Todd, love him to death," Pearl said. "I'm so proud of him. You get a brilliant young coach, highest character, unbelievable family. Kids are playing for him, he cares about the kids, going to do it the right way."
Pearl talked about Auburn's constant struggle to shoot the ball away from home and why that was the case in this game.
"Florida's defense was really good, their length really bothered us," Pearl said. "We didn't execute particularly well."
Auburn returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts the No. 15 South Carolina Gamecocks at Neville Arena at 7:30 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on SEC Network and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
