Auburn Briefing: Demarcus Riddick made a statement in bowl practices

Demarcus Riddick set the tone early during his Auburn tenure.
In this story:

Auburn is going to need help from the impressive 2024 class early in their Auburn careers. Several of them may play as a true freshman.

Demarcus Riddick is an early candidate for one of the newcomers to earn some playing time as a true freshman.

The former Chilton County Schools standout flipped from Georgia to Auburn and made it on the campus early to participate in the bowl practices last month. Every source I talked to within the program that was present for those practices goes on and on regarding how impressive he looked and was impressed with how quickly he picked up practicing at the speed of college ball.

They'd say things like "His ability to move laterally is already insane" or "He may already be the fastest linebacker on the team."

Looking at Auburn's linebacker room, it has the chance to be a strength in 2024.

Eugene Asante's return, paired with a healthy Austin Keys already set the table for an experienced room. Auburn brought in Dorian Mausi from Duke who has played a ton of football already. The Tigers also have upperclassmen in Cam Riley and Wesley Steiner who offer depth.

Robert Woodyard offers upside going into another offseason. As well as other 2024 signees Joe Phillips and DJ Barber.
