The annual meeting of the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide is no stranger to the limelight.

From ABC to ESPN and CBS, the game has rarely been picked over for a primetime slot.

Since 2008, the winner of the game has gone on to represent the West division of the conference in the SEC Championship Game 12 times. The three exceptions were the LSU Tigers in 2011, 2019 and 2022.

The Iron Bowl also has been historically impactful beyond the SEC Championship Game. Since 2009, the winner has played for a national championship 11 times.

It is no surprise that the Iron Bowl is expected to have College Football Playoff implications once again.

Auburn rolled through its non-conference schedule but hit a skid once conference play began. The Tigers have picked up two wins in a row, however, and have a chance to be 7-4 and on a four-game winning streak come Nov. 25.

The Tigers have gone toe-to-toe with some tough competition this season including a game that came down to the wire with the No. 1 team in the nation at the time Georgia Bulldogs.

Alabama did not have an amazing start to the season with a loss to the No. 11 at the time Texas Longhorns and an underwhelming performance against the South Florida Bulls.

The Crimson Tide has hit their stride, however, and will likely only have one loss heading into the Iron Bowl.

The biggest factor that will play into the game is the location: Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala.

Since Nick Saban took over as Alabama's head coach in 2007, he is 11-5 against Auburn. In games played at Jordan-Hare, he is 4-4.

Weird things happen in the Iron Bowl, especially when it takes place on the Plains. If Alabama wins, it will likely go on to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta and maybe the College Football Playoff. If Auburn pulls it off, things will get interesting.
