Auburn Briefing: Payton Thorne needs to feed Rivaldo Fairweather

Rivaldo Fairweather needs to be force-fed targets.

Auburn was able to beat Cal on the road in large part because the defense looked dominant, but one offensive player really stood out, and that was Rivaldo Fairweather.

Fairweather had the two biggest offensive plays of the game as he made a circus catch on 3rd and 17 in the fourth quarter to move the sticks. Then, just a few plays later, the six-foot-four tight end reeled in a five-yard touchdown that ended up being the game-winner.

This game-winning drive proved something Auburn fans already knew: Fairweather is an absolute beast and needs to be fed the ball.

Fairweather is an athletic freak and needs to have at least six or more targets every game this season.

The FIU transfer will be playing on Sundays after the season he is about to put together on the Plains.

We wrote it

Lance Dawe wrote about the big performance that we saw from Auburn linebacker Eugene Asante.

"Eugene Asante was at the forefront of the stellar defensive performance. Asante led the Tigers with 12 tackles, the most of his career. It’s the second straight game he has led Auburn in tackles (six vs UMass)."
