Damari Alston expected to return to the field for Auburn against Mississippi State

Damari Alston is dressed out for the Auburn Tigers.

The Auburn Tigers are beyond ready to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Jordan-Hare on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a true battle of attrition on the injury front for the Tigers as several players have suffered some significant injuries over the course of the 2023 season thus far.

However, the Tigers have been given a much-needed boost in the running back room as sophomore back Damari Alston returns to the room after suffering a shoulder injury earlier in the season.

Alston standing at 5-foot-10 and 209-pounds is an extremely explosive and powerful running back. His return allows for the Tigers' offense to implement more north-south running options as Alston is fully capable of powering through gaps in the defensive line.

Alston’s running style compliments Jarquez Hunter's running style in many ways, as Hunter often looks to get outside, and Alston looks to power through the middle.

This duo being brought back together should open up the passing game for Auburn slightly as this package will attract a lot of attention for Mississippi State's secondary who will be looking to crash down on the line of scrimmage.
