Derick Hall, Tank Bigsby appear in latest NFL Mock Draft
With an intriguing group of prospects submitting their names for consideration, Auburn football fans — like millions of enthusiasts around the country — have directed their attention towards the 2023 installment of the NFL draft; therefore, mock draft publications have once again taken center stage.
John Sigler of SaintsWire provided an interesting set of projections for the likes of Derick Hall and Tank Bigsby, slating Hall at No. 46 overall to the Los Angeles Rams (via Green Bay) and Bigsby at No. 99 overall to the Detroit Lions via the Cleveland Browns.
Hall's selection is worth noting, given that many experts believe that the standout edge rusher could be in the latter portion of the first round; however, a possible union with the 2022 super bowl might be just what the doctor ordered. Sure, Aaron Donald isn't going anywhere, nor does anyone anticipate a decline in production; Hall's presence presents the ability to not place the weight solely upon the all-pro's shoulders and forces opposing offenses to either bulk up in pass protection or scheme around what could be a two-headed monster.
As for Bigsby's proposed selection by Lions in the third round, few might question the logic. After spending three seasons as Auburn's featured back, Bigsby would find himself receiving complimentary carries to the highly touted — and remarkably charismatic — Jamaal Williams in an offense that showed signs of consistency in year two under Dan Campbell. A Detroit landing spot would be the first for an Auburn running back since Kerryon Johnson's selection in the 2018 draft.
